Yet another reason to like the BBC. This via Boing Boing: the BBC is offering free mp3 downloads of all nine of Beethoven's symphonies as performed by the BBC Philharmonic conducted by Gianandrea Noseda. Go grab 'em here, and get 'em quick. You will be able to download symphonies 1 and 3 through Monday, June 13, and symphonies 2, 4, and 5 will be available through Tuesday the 14th. Symphonies 6 through 9 will be made available for download in late June and early July. I haven't listened to these recordings yet, but I'm looking forward to it, as I've become quite a fan of Beethoven's symphonies over the past few years.
